Welcome to LCT

Welcome to the LCT Blog. The plan is to use this space to wave out to you through this blog and welcome you into the world of LCT, giving you tiny glimpses of life in our community and sharing with you some of our journey.

I can hardly believe that it is already almost March. Well almost! Not quite! Here at LCT we have already seen lectures by Dr David Upp progress well into the deep waters of Old Testament History and life. Our first, second and third year students are thrilled at the teaching they are receiving from him with the incredible support by the home based Faculty members. Teaching with us are the Principal of Lahore College of Theology, the Rev Canon Emmanuel Bahadur, Rev Canon Christopher Edgar, Rev Peter Percy, expert teachers and academics MrShafqatSaleebi and Mr Earnest Christopher and Pastor Afzal Paul.

Our Faculty are navigating the deep waters of Christian Counseling, Systematic Theology, Greek, Hebrew and Church History.

It was not much of a winter here in Lahore by some standards but the beautiful winter sun shone on the lawns of LCT, making it possible for some of the faculty members to take advantage of the beautiful outdoors and bring the  students out for some Vitamin D and fresh air to keep those flu germs at bay.

Life in the library is picking up pace as the shelves fill up and students become savvy at using the resources that have been made available for them at the Van der Byl Library on the first floor.  It brings back fond memories for the faculty as we watch students pore over books and sit in clusters , quietly meditating on their reading and discussing their assignments in hushed tones.

The LCT Hostels which is home to almost 11 families, 32 young men and 10 young women are bustling with life, activity and the challenges of the journey of students. A real beam of sunlight into the life of LCT is watching the young ones from as little as a year old to the eldest who is almost 14, building friendships that will last forever.

This Christmas they insisted on being part of the Carol service, so we had magi, shepherds and even a little lamb thanks to the creative genius of Mrs Rubina Kashif. They snuck into the worship space and stood by a little crib bringing wide smiles to the audience as the choir sang 'Do you see what I see'. The LCT choir and worship team sang alongside the professional expertise of award-winning musician and singer BehrangAlgameh from Iran.

Thank you for stopping by and looking in.  We have a packed Lenten season and Holy Week  ahead of us here at the College and our hope is that if you are around, give us a call at the College and find out what time services are. We will be more than happy to serve you through music ministry and prayer.
